This index encompasses U.S.-domiciled, listed companies that are materially engaged in the travel sector, including airlines, hotels, resorts, casinos, cruise lines, and other related travel and leisure businesses. The structure of the ETN allows investors to gain amplified exposure—specifically, 3x leverage—to the daily movements of the underlying travel industry index, making it a tool for tactical, short-term trading rather than long-term investment. Notably, the fund uses derivatives to achieve its leveraged exposure and resets its leverage daily, meaning its returns over periods longer than one day may differ significantly from three times the index’s cumulative return. Issued by Bank of Montreal, the ETN targets sectors that are highly sensitive to economic cycles and consumer discretionary spending, providing a focused instrument for those seeking to capitalize on volatility and momentum within the U.S. travel industry.
